U12 Boys All-Stars Capture King City Classic Crown!

Practicing out of Valleywood under head coach Justin Vetro, Bolton’s U12 Boys All Star team recently took part in the King City Classic playing four games over two hot days Father’s Day weekend.

Rather than allowing the blistering heat to slow the squad down, the Wanderers consistently turned it up against all opponents. Game one against ISLA Beira saw much of the action deep in the Beira end however outstanding goalkeeping kept the Wanderers scoreless in the first half.  Beira emerged victorious in a narrow 2-1 finish.  Curtis Lyn had the lone Bolton goal.

The Wanderers responded to the loss with renewed energy in the next game with Bolton strikers hammering relentlessly at the Schomberg goal.   Fancy footwork by the Wanderers’ Michael O’Rafferty, dogged determination of defensive players and consistent teamwork in advancing the ball by the likes of Robert Delic, Luke Palmerio and Noah Frigault helped secure a victory and a spot in the semi-finals.

Starting fresh on Sunday, Wanderers’ net-minder Michael Srom, following in his footballer fathers’ footsteps, blocked all attempts by Huntsville.  Once again, most of the action was deep in the opponents end.  Bolton’s Justin Fuenzalides came up big with two goals.  Excellent midfield play by Matthew Ramcharan (also scoring), Devin Alldrit, and Josh Pecoskie-Schweir contributed toward two goals driven home by Cole Eddy and Jaydon Prince securing both the victory and the right to play in the championship game.

Following a switch in fields, the Wanderers faced an earlier opponent, Biera and looked to make-up for an earlier loss.  The opening minutes saw end to end action before Bolton’s All Stars slowly began to dominate the game.  Midfielder Zachary Roman’s long shot went up and over the Biera ‘keeper and kicked-off a  Wanderers scoring frenzy.  Supported by teammates Nicholas Musacchio and the cousins Michael and Matthew Marino, Justin Fuenzalides scored three goals – a happy father’s day present for dad!   On defense, Dean Patten never stopped “flying” up and down the field, and once again goalkeeper Srom kept out anything that dared to come his way.  A final goal secured by Jaydon Prince (a fancy left footer) secured the victory for the Wanderers U12 All Stars!

Coaches Justin and John Marino as well as tournament organizers agreed that the U12 Wanderers All Stars truly demonstrated what working together as a team is all about.   Congratulations to all the boys: Devin Alldrit, Robert Delic, Cameron Dowle, Cole Eddy, Noah Frigault, Justin Fuenzalides, Curtis Lym, Michael Marino, Matthew Marino, Nicholas Musacchio, Michael O'Rafferty, Luke Palmerio, Dean Patten, Josh Pecoskie-Schweir, Jaydon Prince, Matthew Ramcharan, Zachary Roman, and Michael Srom.
