Wanderers' U9 Girls Capture COVI Gold!


Triumphant in all tournament appearances last season, the Wanderers’ Under 9 Girls
Competitive Team continued its wining ways at the recent COVI Tournament in

Bolton opened the preliminary round in high-gear defeating North Toronto’s United
S.C. Phoenix 6-2 with goals coming from Alaiyah Wilson, Isabella Belvedere,
Alexandra McGurk, Natashia Start, plus a pair from Christina Riccuiti.

Bolton’s Andrea Dodig provided just the right finish in helping her mates edge
Markham 1-0 in game two. 

Glen Shields were next to fall.   Alaiyah Wilson, Jocelyn Hugo, Christina Ricciuti,
Natashia Start, and Amy Norris provided the goals in the Wanderers’5-0 win over
the Sun Devils. Bolton ‘keeper Katrina Haarman recorded her third consecutive
shut-out in a 2-0 semi-final victory over Woodbridge. Christina Riccuiti had both

The COVI U9 Girls Final was a re-match between Bolton and United S.C. Phoenix. 
And what a dandy!  Andrea Dodig scores an early Wanderers’ goal from a corner. 
1-1 at the end of regulation time, and overtime with the “Golden Goal” rule in effect –
one and done – sudden death!  Less than a minute into the overtime, Bolton’s
Christina Ricciuti finds the mark and the celebrations begin! 

Congratulations go out to all the Wanderers U9 Girls: Natashia Start who was
named MVP of the final game, Isabella Belvedere, Shannon Brown, Christina Coroado,
Alana Coulombe, Victoria D’Alessandro, Andrea Dodig, Katrina Haarman, Jocelyn
Hugo, Alexandra McGurk, Amy Norris, Christina Ricciuti, and Alaiyah Wilson.
The team’s head coach is Nicole Indellicato.  Dawn Dodig is the assistant coach.
